Share the Joy of Parrots with Your Community
We're a passionate group of parrot enthusiasts from the Detroit suburbs who love to share our amazing feathered companions with schools, senior living communities, and friends. Our goal is simple: to bring joy, educate about these incredible birds, and provide enriching social experiences for both our parrots and your guests.
Parrots are extraordinary animals—intelligent, social, and long-lived. Through our visits, we aim to offer a unique, up-close educational experience, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation for these captivating creatures.
About Our Visits
Our visits are a "glorified show and tell" where we introduce ourselves and each of our unique parrots. You'll learn fascinating parrot facts, have all your questions answered, and enjoy opportunities to interact safely with our birds. We're proud to bring our diverse flock, including macaws, cockatoos, african greys, and many more.
What to Expect:
- Engaging Presentations: Learn about parrot behaviors, their intelligence, and how we care for them.
- Safe Interactions: Opportunities for guests to pet or hold a parrot, always guided by our experienced volunteers.
- Joyful Connections: Experience the unique personalities of our feathered friends as they spread smiles.
Important Information
- No Cost: We are a volunteer group and do not charge for our visits.
- Flexible Scheduling: We strive to be as flexible as possible, offering visits on weekdays or weekends between 11 AM and 4 PM. Please note that as volunteers, our availability can vary, and visits are often scheduled 6-8 weeks in advance.
- Visit Duration: Typically around one hour, ensuring a positive experience for both our birds and your guests.
Senior Living Visits
Heartwarming visits that brighten the day.
Parrots are excellent companions for elder care and memory support. Our birds visit nursing homes, assisted living communities, and rehab centers to:
- Stimulate memory and conversation
- Provide joy and engagement
- Create lasting smiles for residents and staff
